Nepali cricketer Kushal Malla achieved a remarkable feat by scoring a world-record century in a T20 International cricket match held in Hangzhou, China. In the ongoing men's cricket tournament, Kushal Malla's extraordinary performance saw him reach a century in just 34 balls during the match against Mongolia.
He surpassed the previous record, which was held by David Miller of South Africa, Rohit Sharma of India, and Sudesh Wickramashekhar of the Czech Republic, who all achieved centuries in 35 balls. Notably, in 2019, former Nepali national team captain Paras Khadka scored a century against Singapore, but it took him 49 balls to reach the milestone.
Kushal Malla reached his century in an impressive manner, hitting six fours and nine sixes in just 34 balls during the game held at Zhejiang University of Technology Finfeng Cricket Field. He concluded the match with an unbeaten total of 137 runs. This achievement places Kushal Malla as the fifth Nepali player to achieve a century in T20 Internationals, following in the footsteps of former captains Paras Khadka and Gyanendra Malla, as well as Dipendra Singh Airi and Kushal Bhurtel, who have also accomplished this feat in T20Is.
Kushal Malla has also set the record for scoring individual highest runs in T20Is for Nepal. The previous personal high score was made by Dipendra Singh. He scored 110 not out.
